How it works
It starts from our estimate today: the Forbes reading of 6 October 2026, moved by what Tesla and SpaceX shares have done since, as on the home page. Then each share price grows by a fixed rate every year, compounded monthly so the line is smooth. His stakes are the shares counted there, 413,152,109 in Tesla and 5,116,475,230 shares and options in SpaceX. Everything else he owns is held at today’s value.
The three scenarios
Base: SpaceX +12% and Tesla +7% a year. Bullish: SpaceX +25% and Tesla +18%. Plaid, named after Tesla’s fastest setting: SpaceX +40% and Tesla +30%, every year without a break.
What it leaves out
Real prices do not move in straight lines, and every one of these paths is smoother than any real one. It ignores share sales, new awards vesting, taxes, borrowing against shares, new share issues and any change in his other assets. The line under the chart says what each company would be worth at those prices, which is the quickest way to judge whether a scenario is plausible.
